Ellesse

Ellesse

Leonardo Servadio founded Ellesse in 1959 in Perugia, a city in Italy. Their goal was to offer different sportswear. What he wanted was to create himself those clothes that he would like to exist, but that he was unable to find in other brands of the moment. In the beginning they focused mainly on two sports: skiing and tennis. That is why for their logo they decided to mix these two disciplines. The hemisphere that always accompanies the brand can be interpreted as the tips of a pair of skis or as half of a tennis ball. Another curiosity is the name. Ellesse is the union of "elle" and "esse", which is how the letters "L" and "S" are said in Italian. And it is that these two consonants are precisely the initials of Leonardo Servadio, the founder of the company.
